Unfinished Church information
They began construction of the church in the 1870s.
The awe inspiring Gothic structure was going to replace St. Peter’s
Church. Then came s series of problems, including parish political
infighting, financial hardships and damage from a storm, it was
abandoned before its completion. Today, the picturesque ruins are a
protected historic monument and part of the St. George's World Heritage
Site.
